CERTIFIED ANTI-CORRUPTION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM IN THE LITHUANIAN STATE FOREST ENTERPRISE
In 2023, auditors from the joint Lithuanian-German company UAB “TUV Uolektis” and RINA Simtex – ORGANISMUL DE CERTIFICARE S.R.L. certified the Anti-Corruption Management System (ACMS) implemented in the Lithuanian State Forest Enterprise (hereinafter referred to as the Company) in 2022.
The Company has been awarded the LTS ISO 37001:2017 (ISO 37001:2016) compliance certificate, which covers the following areas: comprehensive forest management, state forest management, utilization and disposal, forestry, nursery activities, forest infrastructure maintenance, implementation of social functions in state forests, organization of professional hunting, state forest protection, and other commercial activities.
The certificate is valid for 3 years. An annual surveillance audit will be conducted to verify that the Company’s Anti-Corruption Management System operates properly and complies with the ISO 37001 standard requirements.
By implementing the ACMS, the Company ensures its commitment to complying with the requirements of the laws and other regulations of the Republic of Lithuania in the field of corruption prevention, the requirements of the Anti-Corruption Management System and to not tolerate any forms of corruption, including conflicts of interest, bribery, illegal gifts, corruption, trading in influence, abuse of power or other corrupt practices.
The ACMS provisions apply to all Company employees and underpin all relationships with clients, business partners, and public sector representatives.

Anti-corruption policy – a corruption prevention document, which establishes the position of zero tolerance for corruption and by which the Company undertakes not to tolerate corruption and to follow requirements of corruption prevention.
Employee Code of Ethics – an undertaking of employees to adhere to the values and behavioural standards and norms of professional ethics stated in Company’s policies.
Conflict of Interest Avoidance Policy helps to create and maintain a conflict of interest management system in accordance with good practice, which would ensure that decisions are made in the Company objectively and impartially, as well as create an environment that is unfavourable to corruption.
Gift Policy – establishes the guidelines for the handling of gifts by Company employees. No gift shall be given or accepted that could be construed as encouraging or rewarding the pursuit of a decision, favouring or exclusive treatment in any activity related to the Company, including where this could give rise to a conflict of interest. The responsible entities shall be informed of such facts or bribery of the employee.

The Company’s Prevention Department is responsible for creating an environment resistant to corruption, preventing corruption in the Company, investigating information about corruption of employees, violations of public and private interests or other cases of employee abuse.
The Company ensures protection for whistle-blowers. Infringements can be reported either anonymously or non-anonymously via email: [email protected]. If you have or had an employment or other legal relationship with the Company, you may report violations of the Company’s employees non-anonymously via email: [email protected] or visiting the Prevention Department.
The management and employees of the Lithuanian State Forest Enterprise (SFE) are committed to creating and maintaining a system for managing conflicts of interest that adheres to best practices. This system ensures that decisions within SFE are made objectively and impartially, fostering an environment unfavorable to corruption, ensuring compliance with the Anti-Corruption Management System and Anti-Corruption Policy, and increasing trust in SFE’s operations.
Reconciling interests and avoiding conflicts of interest are part of the daily responsibilities and duties of every employee and any person associated with SFE’s activities. Each individual must take active measures to prevent conflicts of interest for themselves and others involved.
SFE employees must not participate in preparing, discussing, or making decisions, or influence or attempt to influence decisions, if these are related to their private interests.
The company applies the following measures, among others, to address conflicts of interest:
- Renouncement or liquidation of private interest;
- Recusal or withdrawal;
- Restriction or removal of access to relevant information or assets;
- Assignment of functions that do not pose a conflict of interest;
- Restructuring of duties and responsibilities;
- Reassignment to different positions;
- Complete renouncement of duties related to private interests.
