In online timber sales system (EMPS) the auction to sign 6-month contracts for the first half of 2022 concluded.
“The results of the auction have shown that the demand for wood in the market remains high, so we value the activity and competitiveness of buyers after buying almost the entire amount of wood offered at the auction. We will ensure the fulfillment of our contractual obligations and the smooth supply of timber to our customers. We hope that this demand for wood will remain until the end of the year.
We also see a slight decrease in the price of coniferous logs. However, although the conpany offered a significantly higher amount of firewood and deforestation residues than before, the significant increase in the price of this raw material was surprising,” said Valdas Kaubrė, the head of The State Enterprise Valstybinių miškų urėdija (VMU).
According to the head of VMU, while the demand for timber and the activity of buyers remain, VMU will also ensure a stable economic return to the state. It is planned that the company will earn 200 million EUR this year and 70 million EUR in revenue normalized profit. Next year, sales revenue is expected to reach 238 million EUR and normalized profit will also be higher than this year.
VMU offered 641.96 thousand st of wood in the rough and 105.38 thousand st logging leftovers.
