The forest is an invaluable treasure of our country. Since ancient times, Lithuanians have been drawn to the forest not only to gather berries or mushrooms but also to rest and recover. Today, it is increasingly recognized that the forest has a real, scientifically proven impact on human emotional and physical health. This connection is deeply revealed through the experiential practice of forest therapy, which is gaining more and more popularity.

A forest therapy session is a mindful presence in the forest, aimed at strengthening the bond with nature and finding inner balance. Unlike a simple walk, this activity invites you to slow your pace and focus attention on the five senses – the sounds you hear, the scents you smell, the sights you see, the touches you feel, and even the tastes you notice. Originating in Japan (Shinrin Yoku), this practice has become a global movement that Lithuania is increasingly embracing.

At the State Forest Enterprise, forest therapy sessions are led by foresters who have completed forest therapy training. The focus here is mindful presence in nature, openness to the environment, and the discovery of new experiences. Such practices allow one to sense the rhythm of the forest, notice details often overlooked in everyday life, and simply spend time with oneself.

Forest therapy invites you to discover peace, listen to nature more attentively, and strengthen your inner connection with the environment. It is a simple yet meaningful way to experience nature differently – mindfully and sensitively.

Pause. Breathe. Feel the forest.
