In accordance with Article 5, Section 2, Clause 9 of the Republic of Lithuania’s Forestry Law, the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Lithuania establishes mandatory standards for the implementation of forest establishment, restoration, protection, management, and conservation measures for the Lithuanian State Forest Enterprise.
The procedure for setting these mandatory standards for the Lithuanian State Forest Enterprise is regulated by the Description of the Procedure for Establishing Mandatory Standards for Forest Establishment, Restoration, Protection, Management, and Conservation Measures, approved by the Minister of Environment of the Republic of Lithuania on March 25, 2004, by Order No. D1-133.
Mandatory work standards are established annually for the primary tasks of forest establishment, restoration, protection, management, and conservation measures. The implementation of these mandatory standards is financed by the State Forest Enterprise’s funds, state and/or municipal budget funds, European Union structural funds and other funding sources.
