Since 2004, we have implemented a forest certification program based on the principles of the independent organization Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC-C007388). The forest management assessment and wood product labeling system of this organization guarantee that labeled products are produced in accordance with sustainable forest management principles. Each year, we sell approximately 3.6 million cubic meters of raw timber, and the revenue generated is allocated to fully cover the maintenance of forests, construction of forest roads, and other activities of the State Forest Enterprise.
The quantity of timber and logging residues sold depends on:
- The annual national forest cutting norms approved by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania for a five-year period;
- The annual cutting norms for primary and intermediate forest cutting set by the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Lithuania.
