For Contractors

In the field of logging, we collaborate with contractors to address common production issues.

With the Forest Work Contractors Association, we maintain an ongoing dialogue to improve Lithuanian legislation regulating logging and other activities in the state forests. Based on the decisions made, proposals for amendments to rules and regulations are submitted to the Ministry of Environment. We also discuss with contractors the pricing of logging services, the technical specifications of individual services, timely service delivery and other related matters.

In the field of forestry, we collaborate with contractors on issues such as site preparation and maintenance, forest regeneration and establishment, thinning cuttings, protection of seedlings and trees, maintenance of ditches, roadsides, compartment lines and boundary lines, transportation of seedlings and other related matters.

In the area of forest infrastructure, contractors assist with road construction, major road repairs or reconstruction and routine road maintenance and upkeep.

How to Become a Contractor for the Lithuanian State Forest Enterprise?

In accordance with the provisions of the Public Procurement Law, we announce public tenders for timber harvesting and forestry services. Service agreements are signed with providers who meet the qualification requirements and whose proposals are deemed successful.

How to Obtain a Digital Map?

For the convenience of contractors, the Lithuanian State Forest Enterprise has invested in new digital maps with integrated data layers. These maps, installed on mobile devices and tablets, will function offline, facilitating smoother work for contractors in the forest.

The Lithuanian State Forest Enterprise has prepared a digital map for contractors performing logging, forest regeneration, private road repair and maintenance work. This map, necessary for fulfilling contract obligations, includes the following specific data layers:

  • Planned logging areas for the current year
  • Boundaries of regional units, forestry districts and forest compartments
  • Forest plot data with main descriptive information
  • Forest roads, ditches, and other linear forest objects

Contractors can use the map on mobile devices (phones, tablets) offline, which is particularly convenient given the difficulty of maintaining a stable internet connection in the forest.

Contractors only need to submit requests, install the free (open-source) QFIELD application and upload the data and map to their device.

Application Submission Procedure:

Contractors (legal entities) wishing to obtain and use the digital map are invited to submit applications by filling out this form and sending it via email to [email protected].

When verifying suppliers' qualifications, the following aspects are considered selectively:

  1. 1
The right to engage in the relevant activity
  2. 2
    Financial and economic capacity
  3. 3
    Technical and professional capacity

Qualification requirements partially depend on the services the contractor intends to offer.
