We invite equipment manufacturers and suppliers to participate in the consultation regarding the purchase of a forest fire monitoring system
2024 03 18
The Environmental Project Management Agency and the State Forestry Office are organizing a consultation with market participants in order to properly prepare for the expected public procurement of the Unified Forest Fire Monitoring System (VMSS). All interested software and hardware manufacturers and suppliers are invited to participate in the consultation and provide their comments, suggestions and insights regarding the future purchase of VMGSS.
VMGSS will detect and record outbreaks of forest fires in all Lithuanian forests and will be able to accurately determine their coordinates and automatically inform the Department of Fire Protection and Rescue. This will allow the responsible services to respond even more promptly, to arrive at the fire stations and to localize the fires before they spread. The system will monitor all the country’s forests, regardless of their form of ownership, except for isolated remote forests of a small area (up to 25 ha). The existing multi-purpose towers will be used for the operation of the system. It is tentatively planned to place at least 151 detectors in towers belonging to the State Forestry Office, GSM operators or other private owners.
Preliminary consultation with market participants will take place until today. m. April 8 During the consultation, the aim is to properly prepare for future public procurement and to inform potential suppliers about procurement plans and requirements. After examining the submitted questions and proposals, meetings with market participants will be organized as needed in order to detail the submitted questions, proposals and possible solutions. Meetings will be held live or remotely.
